Seven Holy Churches Trail Christian Pilgrimage Tour is a 6  days Kerala Tour package by us which follows the path and journey through the curches estabilished by Apostle St:Thomas in Kerala. Seven Churches established by St:Thomas in Kerala include Kodungalloor Church, Kollam Church, Nilakkal Church, Niranam Church, Kokkamangalam Church , Kottakkavu Church and Palayoor Church.  Malyattoor in Kerala is considered to be the half church as  St:Thomas never established a church there.

According to legend, Virgin Mary  visited St. Thomas while meditating on Malayattoor hills. On his way to Tamil Nadu, where he later got killed,  he prayed on a rock, drawing a cross on it. A golden cross later appeared on the rock, discovered by hunters in CE 500. This led to the construction of a church, earning the site the name Golden Cross Hillock. The area, inhabited by sheep, influenced the church offerings of gingelly and salt. Pilgrims climb the hill chanting St. Thomas’s name, especially on the Sunday after Easter. Officially, the hill is known as Kurisumudi.

Seven Holy Churches Trail (5 Nights)- Itinerary

Day 1  Kochi Airport-Guruvayoor

When you arrive at Kochi airport, you will be received by our representative  and proceed to Guruvayur in chauffeur driven car. Check into the hotel and relax. Later, proceed to visit Palayoor church. Night stay in a hotel in Guruvayur.

Day 2  Guruvayoor-Kochi

After breakfast and check out from hotel in Guruvayur and proceed to visit St. Thomas Church, Kodungallur, St. Thomas Kottakkavu Forane Church, North Paravur and then proceed to visit St Thomas Marthoma Church. Later, drive to Kochi. Check into the hotel and proceed for the sightseeing nearby. You can visit and spend time in MG Road, Broadway, Marine drive etc. Night stay in a hotel in Kochi and local sightseeing Fort Cochin, Mattancherry etc..

Day 3  Kochi-Alleppey (Houseboat)

Proceed to Alleppey from Kochi . On the way, visit St. Thomas Church Kokkamangalam. On arrival check into the houseboat. Set out an awesome overnight backwater cruise in traditional Kerala houseboat. Starting from Alleppey we will take you through sights of paddy fields created from Lake during the ruling of King and here cultivation happens below sea level) and will pass through multiple backwater canals and return back to Alleppey. Enjoy the scenes in a Kerala country side in a backwater cruise -skim past bowed down paddy fields, local inhabitants engaged in making coir products, rustic homes and swaying coconut palms. While cruising in the houseboat look out for local inhabitants making coir products, rustic homes and swaying coconut trees in Kerala country side. Overnight Stay in the houseboat.

Day 4  Alleppey-Kollam

After breakfast and check out from houseboat and proceed to visit next two churches. You can visit St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church Niranam first and then proceed to check into hotel in Pathanamthitta. Later, proceed to visit Nilackal St. Thomas Ecumenical Church. Drive for Overnight stay in a hotel in Kollam.

Day 5  Drive to Trivandrum

After breakfast and check out from hotel in Pathanamthitta and proceed to Trivandrum. You can visit Kollam church/PORT KOLLAM CHURCH on the way. Check into the hotel in Trivandrum and proceed for the sightseeing nearby. Night stay in a hotel in Trivandrum.

Day 6

Departure from Trivandrum

After breakfast and checkout from the hotel and proceed to the airport. You can visit Thiruvankottu Church. We will drop you back to the airport for the departure. Enjoy your journey back home feeling contended about a wonderful holiday you had in Gods Own Country- Kerala. End of the trip with us.

The total distance to be covered in 6 days in the Christian Pilgrimage Tour is 396 Kilometers, reaching the destinations: Kochi, Guruvayoor, Alleppey Houseboat, Pathanamthitta and Trivandrum. The road conditions can be crowded occasionally due to pedestrians, vehicles and local traffic!
