THE KERALA ESCAPE – 6 DAYS

Day 1 – Arrival in Kochi & Transfer to Munnar

Route: Kochi to Munnar
Distance: 135 km | Travel Time: 4–5 hours

Upon arrival at Kochi Airport/Railway Station, you will be warmly received and proceed on a scenic drive to Munnar, one of Kerala’s most beautiful hill stations. The journey itself is a delightful experience, passing through winding roads, lush greenery, and cascading waterfalls. En route, visit the picturesque Cheeyappara Waterfalls and Valara Waterfalls, along with spice plantations.

On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax amidst the cool mountain air. Munnar’s charm lies in its mist-covered hills and sprawling tea estates. Overnight stay in Munnar.


Day 2 – Munnar Sightseeing

After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring Munnar’s scenic beauty. Begin with a visit to Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Continue to the Tea Museum to learn about the region’s tea heritage.

Later, visit Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and Kundala Lake, all offering stunning views and opportunities for photography. The rolling tea plantations and cool climate make Munnar a refreshing retreat. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.


Day 3 – Munnar to Thekkady

Distance: 100 km | Travel Time: 3.5–4 hours

After breakfast, drive to Thekkady, a region known for its rich wildlife and spice plantations. The journey through the Western Ghats offers breathtaking views of hills and valleys.

Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Later, enjoy an optional boat ride at Periyar Lake within the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, where you may spot elephants, bison, deer, and various bird species. You may also explore spice plantations, enjoy an elephant ride, or watch traditional performances like Kathakali and Kalaripayattu. Overnight stay in Thekkady.


Day 4 – Thekkady to Kumarakom

Distance: 145 km | Travel Time: 4–5 hours

After breakfast, proceed to Kumarakom, a serene backwater destination located along the banks of Vembanad Lake. The drive takes you through scenic landscapes of rubber plantations and countryside villages.

Upon arrival, check into your resort and spend the day at leisure. Relax by the backwaters, enjoy the tranquil ambiance, or opt for an Ayurvedic treatment. Kumarakom offers a perfect blend of nature and relaxation. Overnight stay at the resort.


Day 5 – Backwater Cruise & Transfer to Marari

Distance: 30 km | Travel Time: 1 hour

After breakfast, embark on a traditional houseboat for a 3-hour day cruise through the serene backwaters. Experience the slow-paced village life, lush paddy fields, and coconut-lined canals while enjoying the comfort of the houseboat.

Later, disembark and drive to Mararikulam (Marari), a peaceful coastal village known for its pristine beaches. Spend the evening relaxing along the shore, enjoying the gentle waves and scenic beauty.

You may also visit the International Coir Museum to learn about Kerala’s traditional coir industry. Overnight stay in Marari.


Day 6 – Marari to Kochi Departure

Distance: 80 km | Travel Time: 1.5–2 hours

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive back to Kochi for your departure.

Proceed to the airport/railway station with beautiful memories of Kerala’s hills, wildlife, backwaters, and beaches.
