Day 1 – Arrival at Kozhikode & City Exploration
Route: Arrival at Kozhikode
Upon arrival at Kozhikode Airport/Railway Station, you will be received and transferred to your hotel. Known historically as the “City of Spices,” Kozhikode played a vital role in ancient trade with Arabs, Chinese, and Europeans.
After check-in, proceed for a city tour. Visit Mananchira Square, a beautifully maintained park surrounding a historic pond built by the Zamorins. Continue to SM Street, the bustling Sweet Meat Street, famous for its traditional halwa and vibrant shopping scene. Later, visit Kappad Beach, where Vasco da Gama first landed in India in 1498. Enjoy the serene beach before returning to your hotel. Overnight stay in Kozhikode.
Day 2 – Kozhikode to Wayanad
Distance: 90 km | Travel Time: 2–2.5 hours
After breakfast, drive to Wayanad, a scenic hill district nestled in the Western Ghats. En route, stop at Lakkidi View Point for breathtaking valley views and visit the mysterious Chain Tree.
Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Later, visit Pookode Lake, surrounded by forests and hills. Continue to Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earthen dam in India, offering stunning reservoir views and boating options. Overnight stay in Wayanad.
Day 3 – Wayanad Exploration & Wildlife Safari
After breakfast, proceed to Edakkal Caves, located at 1000 meters above sea level. A short trek leads to these ancient caves featuring prehistoric carvings dating back thousands of years.
In the afternoon, visit Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary for an optional jeep safari (direct payment). The sanctuary is home to elephants, deer, gaur, and a variety of bird species. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Wayanad.
Day 4 – Wayanad to Kannur via Vadakara
Distance: 135 km | Travel Time: 4–4.5 hours
After breakfast, check out and drive to Kannur. En route, visit Sargaalaya Kerala Arts and Crafts Village, where skilled artisans showcase traditional crafts and live demonstrations.
Upon arrival in Kannur, check in to your hotel. Later, visit the Lighthouse Museum and enjoy scenic views from the top. Continue to St. Angelo Fort, a historic fort overlooking the Arabian Sea, followed by relaxation at Payyambalam Beach. Overnight stay in Kannur.
Day 5 – Kannur Cultural & Coastal Experience
After breakfast, visit Parassinikkadavu Muthappan Temple, a unique temple known for its inclusive rituals. You may also enjoy boating in the nearby river.
Later, explore the Kerala Folklore Academy, showcasing Kerala’s rich traditions including Theyyam.
In the afternoon, visit Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach, Asia’s longest drive-in beach, offering a rare driving experience along the shoreline. Overnight stay in Kannur.
Day 6 – Departure
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Kannur International Airport or railway station for your onward journey.
