THE LAND OF LOOMS, LORE’S & BEACHES – 5 DAYS

Day 1 – Arrival & Heritage Exploration

Route: Arrival at Kannur

Upon arrival at Kannur Airport/Railway Station, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Known as the “Land of Looms and Lores,” Kannur is rich in history, culture, and traditional art forms like Theyyam.

After check-in, visit the Lighthouse Museum and climb the lighthouse for panoramic coastal views. Continue to St. Angelo Fort, a 16th-century Portuguese fort overlooking the Arabian Sea. Later, relax at Payyambalam Beach. Overnight stay in Kannur.


Day 2 – Culture, Temple & Hill Escape

After breakfast, visit the Kerala Folklore Academy, which beautifully showcases Kerala’s traditional art forms including Theyyam and Padayani.

Proceed to Parassinikkadavu Muthappan Temple, a unique temple known for its inclusive rituals. You may enjoy optional boating in the nearby river.

In the afternoon, drive to Palakkayam Thattu, a scenic hilltop offering breathtaking views of the Western Ghats. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.


Day 3 – Temples, Heritage & Beach Drive

After breakfast, visit Peralassery Subramanya Temple, known for its mythological significance. Continue to the nearby Hanuman temple and then visit Gundert Bungalow, associated with German missionary Hermann Gundert.

Later, enjoy a unique experience at Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach, Asia’s longest drive-in beach, where you can drive along the shoreline. Overnight stay in Kannur.


Day 4 – Backwaters, Craft & Nature

After breakfast, proceed to Kavvayi Backwaters, where you can enjoy kayaking or boating through serene mangrove-lined canals (optional).

Later, visit Kunhimangalam Bronze Village, famous for traditional bell metal crafts. Continue to Madayipara, a unique hillock known for its seasonal beauty and historical remnants. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.


Day 5 – Departure

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Kannur International Airport or railway station for your onward journey.
