Day 01 – Arrival & Thalassery Heritage with Theyyam Experience

Route: Kannur → Thalassery
Distance & Time: Approx. 25 km | 45 mins

Upon arrival at Kannur Airport/Railway Station, you will be warmly received and driven to Thalassery, a town known for its colonial charm and cultural significance. Begin your heritage exploration visiting landmarks like Thalassery Fort and stroll through the historic streets that once flourished under European trade influence.

After the tour, proceed to your hotel in Kannur and check in. In the evening or late night (as per schedule), experience the divine ritual of Theyyam at a local temple (Kavu). This vibrant performance is a powerful blend of dance, music, and spirituality, believed to be a direct manifestation of the divine. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02 – Kannur Heritage & Theyyam Experience

After breakfast, explore the cultural highlights of Kannur. Visit the iconic St. Angelo Fort, overlooking the Arabian Sea, and relax at Payyambalam Beach.

Later, visit the Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary outskirts or local heritage spots depending on your pace. In the evening/night, proceed to another temple to witness a different form of Theyyam ritual, each unique in costume, story, and performance. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 03 – Backwaters & Ritual Evenings

After breakfast, proceed for a serene backwater cruise at Kavvayi Backwaters.
Distance & Time: Approx. 40 km | 1 hr

Glide through tranquil waterways lined with coconut groves and village life, offering a peaceful contrast to the vibrant Theyyam nights. Return to the hotel and relax.

In the evening or late night, attend another Theyyam performance at a different Kavu, deepening your understanding of this sacred art form. Overnight stay in Kannur.

Day 04 – Hill Station Escape & Nature Trails

Route: Kannur → Paithalmala → Ezharakundu Waterfalls
Distance & Time: Approx. 65 km | 2–2.5 hrs (one way)

After breakfast, head to the scenic hill station of Paithalmala, located in the Western Ghats. Enjoy panoramic views, misty landscapes, and refreshing mountain air. Continue to Ezharakundu Waterfalls, a serene spot surrounded by lush greenery.

Return to Kannur by evening and relax at your hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 05 – Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Kannur International Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.
